A wedding beyond your imagination

This is the Windermere wedding you always imagined: the one from the glossy magazines. At Lakeside House, that ceremony comes in full technicolour, with lakeside jetty, gazebo ceremony, mountain backdrop and drinks on the lawn. Weather clouding your vows? The elegant coach house, drawing room or library should be no hardship.

A stunning Georgian home dressed in contemporary luxury

Fronting a verdant sweep of oak, fir and beech and keeping watch over Windermere’s waters is Lakeside House.

A stunning Georgian home dressed in contemporary luxury, Lakeside House is sustained by biomass and spiced by literary connections. They include Beatrix Potter, whose ‘The Fairy Caravan’ was set here, and William Wordsworth, who wandered the woods, lonely as a cloud.

Lakeside House is a hideaway heaven packed with places to be either apart or a part of things.

Snuggle up at the fireside with a page-turner. Party hard and clear your head fast in the Lakeland air. Sleep the deepest sleep in crisp linen. Explore the 500-acre ultimate adventure playground. Fish the trout-laden lake. Go Ape at Grizedale.  Or just sit pretty and watch the lake steamer part the lapping waters.

Weddings at Lakeside House

At Lakeside House you can bring to life your wedding exactly how you’ve imagined it. Dramatic backdrop, beautiful surroundings, romantic ceremony, all guaranteed when you get married next to the breath-taking Lake Windermere.

With a wedding license for up to 100 guests, you can take your pick of the Coach House, Drawing Room or Library. Or for something a little different you can have an unlicensed ceremony outdoors in the gardens, or in a beautiful lakeside setting under the gazebo.

For a unique experience for your guests the gardens sweeping down to the lake are ideal for your drinks reception after your ceremony. Your friends and family can mingle and soak up the stunning views of Lake Windermere.

Lakeside House is the picture perfect wedding venue in the Lake District. The incredible, soaring views are only eclipsed by the beauty and elegance of the bride and her groom.

All this and lake too

Wordsworth wandered the nearby woods, lonely as a cloud. But you needn’t be. Make a wedding weekend of it in The Lakeside House with dozens of your nearest and dearest. You’ll be charmed by country-chicness, hypnotised by the handmade kitchen, and you’ll probably dance in the drawing room. The lake’s not bad, either.
