The view will stay in your memory forever

As soon as you arrive at Polpier you’ll throw open the terrace doors and drink in the stupendous views of palm trees, aquamarine seas and boats bobbing in the harbour. The heated pool, tennis court and disco will stay on site, but the view will stay in your memory forever.

Pool and Gardens

Down the wide, sweeping, stone steps, below the huge lawn, lies the heated outdoor swimming pool at Polpier.

Relax poolside on the slate terrace. Enjoy the views over the harbour, and soak up the rays as the sun passes across the sky.

Behind Polpier is the club standard synthetic clay tennis court. Perfect for friendly knock abouts or your own tournament.

Polpier has two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, with incredible harbour views. At the heart of the garden is the large front lawn, perfect for cricket and croquet. At the end of the lawn you’ll find the gazebo, which provides shade for lazy afternoons of reading and snoozing.

Living Spaces

Relax in the elegant drawing room. Cosy up on the huge corner sofa in the family room. Warm your toes by the wood burner, and settle down for a night in front of the Bose home cinema system. Use the table for those impossible jigsaws, which take days to complete, even with the whole family helping out.

The disco hall, complete with DJ booth and disco ball is the perfect place to dance the night away with your family and friends.

There is also a games room at Polpier, complete with a table tennis table, and a snooker room with and breath-taking views over the harbour.

Cooking and Dining

There is a large light-filled kitchen and dining room. At the far end, beside a wood burning stove, there is a granite topped table which seats up to 16 guests.

There is also bar with seats for ten guests and a wall mounted TV, fantastic for watching those important sporting matches.

Off the kitchen dining room there is a catering kitchen with everything you need to create a feast for your family.

For those sunny days there is a terrace just outside the kitchen dining room with another granite top table which seats up to 16.

We’ve top class chefs available to create and serve a special three course dinner, drop off ready meals when you arrive, or serve a classic brunch on Sunday morning. Or book a chef for the week and relax.

There are eight super king bedrooms at Polpier, seven of which have ensuite bathrooms, or walk in shower rooms.

The spacious Aqua Suite has a master bedroom, an ensuite bathroom and an adjoining twin zip-and-link room, great for families with young children.

Two guests can stay in idyllic privacy in the Honeymoon Suite. The Honeymoon Suite sits separate to the main house and has a super king-sized double bed and en suite shower room.

There is room for an extra ten guests in Penpol, the neighbouring cottage. Penpol has 5 double bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom.

Children welcome, and dogs too

At Polpier there’s something for everyone and different spaces and places for all ages. Polpier will put a smile on the faces of your family.

Teenagers will love the games room at Polpier, which has a table tennis table, separate snooker room and of course the disco.

Children of all ages will enjoy splashing around in the heated outdoor pool and letting off steam on the tennis court. Get your rackets at the ready and prepare for some fun and laughter on the courts.

Dogs also adore Polpier, running around the gardens, snoozing on the sunbeds or curling up by the woodburners.

Autumn and Winter in Mevagissey

Mevagissey is still just as charming in winter. Boats bob in the harbour and the cottages are beacons of colour along the quiet, winding streets. The fish and chips are still to die for and the pubs and restaurants glow with a warm welcome.

Wrap up for a walk on a beautiful, deserted beach. Enjoy tennis, golf, shooting and sailing on crisp, clear days. Make the most of Cornwall’s many attractions, including the Eden Project and St Ives Tate, when the maddening crowds are far away.

Polpier is a haven of comfort. Experiment cooking Polpier’s orchard apples on the Agas or curl up in front of a wood burner with a glass of mellow, red wine. Snooker and table tennis competitions, long, lazy candle-lit dinners and nights dancing in the disco.

Christmas is extra special with the Mevagissey’s colourful decorations reflected in the harbour. There are sparkling Christmas trees in both houses and the opportunity to celebrate in luxury and privacy with your family and friends.

What people say

"what a wonderful weekend we have just had for our wedding. We were so lucky with the weather allowing us to use the full extent of 'Polpiers' gardens and facilities. The house allowed family and friends to be with us for an extended time and the venue was just perfect. Amanda Craze looked after us superbly as did Graham and all other staff. The house and gardens were impeccable and we could not have wished for more. We are talking about a return visit for a wedding anniversary in the future! Again many thanks" - Stephanie and Mark Dudley (nee Worth)
"Lovely weekend had by all who stayed here for the intimate Barrett-Reynolds wedding party. The setting couldn’t have been any more perfect. The view across the harbour is fantastic. So much thought has gone into ensuring every whim is catered for. But I think the most fabulous thing to be able to do was to sit down together and eat meals, talk and chill. Best weekend, very happy Mum of the bride." - Amanda Barrett
"The most perfect week, a complete dream of a venue. We had the entire plot for the ‘Belgrave Wedding 2016’ and all 26 guests had the time of their lives! Lots of tennis, snooker and croquet played. I’ve always dreamed of living in a commune and I’ve had that dream reaffirmed this week. Thanks to Amanda and the team for being attentive, thoughtful but not intrusive during out stay." - Hew and Donna Belgrave
"Thank you for such a wonderful weekend celebrating our wedding. It couldn’t have been more perfect – the venue, the weather, the setting, the furnishing, the people. Everything about this beautiful place accentuated our day. We laughed, we cried, we played, we danced, we sang, we loved and we made our first memories here. We hope our love, laughter and happiness can be felt in the fabric of the building. We’ll be back." - Richard and Kim
"Absolutely fantastic! The best equipped property I've stayed in, and very user friendly! It was in a great position and would love to book it again. Congratulations to the owner on a fantastic property" - Harry
"The property had a lot of facilities so no-one was ever without something to do. It was very well equipped, and seemed as if every detail had been thought of such as pool towels etc. The pool was lovely and warm so even when the weather wasn´t hot you could still enjoy a dip. Will definitely return to relive the memories!" - Sophia
"What´s better than staying in a stunning 19th century home updated with luxurious amenities and overlooking a picturesque fishing town in Cornwall?" - The Huffington Post
"Our guests loved the property and we had an excellent time. The quality and the standard of the property was excellent." - Amanda
"The house is absolutely stunning. I had no idea it would be so amazing and I honestly felt really spoilt staying there, as it’s so comfortable and luxurious and quite honestly unlike anywhere I have ever stayed before. The house was so warm and cosy and the bedrooms are just wonderful. Whoever looks after the house has done a fabulous job. The house is so clean and well cared for and everything has been so well thought out- the kitchen is well equipped and the beautiful sitting areas, with books and blankets are perfect for relaxation. I thought the house was just perfect for a yoga retreat because its really somewhere you can rest and relax, and the hallway / dance floor made an ideal space for practicing yoga. I would love to return there one day, as it really is a special place, I had such a brilliant weekend there and I really hope to return." - Sarah
